"ICS for School Leads" Training at IU08

Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 is pleased to partner with Rain Public Planning to provide this school safety learning opportunity on Friday, January 18, 2019.

Participants will learn the concepts and practices needed to utilize ICS functions in school event settings. You will be provided with National Incident Management System, Incident Command System practices, principles, and functions. Working together in school teams, participants will learn through lecture, activities and exercises under the guidance of public safety planning professions.

This training will include the following core ICS functions:

• Why and Where ICS is Used
• Chain of Command, Unity of Command, and Unified Command
• Formal vs. Informal Communication
• ICS Terms and Organization
• Expanding and Contracting Event Management
• ICS Positions, Roles and Functions
• How to Define Effective Objectives
